Vince Taylor Bodybuilder
Vince Taylor Tribute Page
Vince Taylor PictureThere is no doubt that Vince Taylor has permanently put himself onto the list of one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time. Until recently Taylor held the Guinness world record for the most IFBB professional wins at 22 victories. His record was recently beaten by eight time Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman with 26 wins.
At a height of 5'9" and competing at a weight of around 230 pounds Vince certainly knows how to prepare his body for a top class competition.
Vince Taylor left professional bodybuilding after what has become a controversial 13th place for the 2001 Mr Olympia this all got worse with his 2002 Masters Olympia loss to Don Youngblood. Vince is a five times Masters champion at the age of 49 and he thought he was finished with bodybuilding for good.
But he came back four years later looking better than he had ever done in the 2006 Australian Pro, where he placed 3rd. In the same year he also placed 11th in the 2006 Mr. Olympia. Vince still trains 6 days a week and will probably be doing that until he dies.
Vince Taylor Workout
Vince trains with high volume, working out for about two hours a day 6 days a week.
He says that training correctly is vitally important and he explains that he trains by "feeling" the muscle and how much blood he is getting to the targeted muscle that he is training. He says "I go by feel, filling muscles up with blood, training from different angles and resting the body - not pushing mass amounts of weight and all that stuff. My body just says, hey I can work like this."
An example of Vince Taylor triceps workout would be:
Triceps pushdowns for 5 sets of 10 to 12 reps
One arm pushdowns for 5 sets of 10 to 12 reps
Dumbbell french press for 5 sets of 10 to 12 reps
Triceps kickbacks for 5 sets of 10 to 12 repsNote: For information on volume training for natural bodybuilders checkout Muscle Express Training.
